ABOUT THE ASEAN CULTURAL FESTIVAL/アセアン文化祭について

The ASEAN Cultural Festival was first organised in 2006 by the various ASEAN student associations in Japan.

 

The festival is organised for the following objectives

  • To build ASEAN spirit between the member organisation

  • To promote and let the whole world know about ASEAN

  • To let everyone have a fun time with food and performances

 

アセアン文化祭はさまざまな在日アセアン学生団体のおかげで、2006に始めて開催されました。

 

アセアン文化祭は以下の目的で開催されます。

  • メンバー間の親近感を深め、お互い尊重しあうことを促すこと。いわゆるASEANのSPIRITを植えつけること

  • ASEANの魅力を全世界へ発信すること

  • おいしい料理と興味深いパフォーマンスで皆さんに楽しい一日を提供すること

AYNJ

ASEAN Youth Network in Japan

AYNJ is a volunteer-based entity that strives to facilitate creative opportunities for ASEAN youth in Japan, with the purpose of fostering cooperation and creating connections among ASEAN and Japanese youth.

Ultimately, we would like to contribute towards peace, progress and prosperity of ASEAN and Japan.

ISAJ

Indonesian Students' Asssociation in Japan

The Indonesian Student Union in Japan is the organization of Indonesian students studying in universities and technical colleges in Japan. It was founded on June 24, 1953 in Tokyo. In Indonesian language the organization is known as “Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia di Jepang” or PPIJ in short. In Japanese, it is referred as 在日インドネシア留学生協会. Currently there are over 2000 students enlisted as member of PPIJ. PPIJ serves as home for Indonesian students to communicate among themselves, cultivate and accumulate knowledge they earn to bring the best benefit back home. 

MYSA

Myanmar Youth and Students Association

This organization is formed by Myanmar people in Japan 1) To encourage friendship among Myanmar people and with other countries 2) To share information such as job, education, etc., 3) To participate in international events and Festivals on behalf of the Myanmar 4) To contribute in social aids such as volunteering and donating activities.

 

TSAJ

Thailand Students' Association in Japan

Thai Students’ Association in Japan under the Royal Patronage (TSAJ) was initiated in 1897 when the first batch of Thai students arrived Japan. They were supported by the scholarship from the King of Thailand, which was later known as the King`s scholarship. After that, the number increased until it was possible to form the Association in 1939. On April 4, 1939, we received the name “under Royal Patronage from H.M.’s kindness”.

AFSJ

Association of Filipino Students in Japan

The Association of Filipino Students in Japan (AFSJ) aims to unite all Filipino students and graduates in Japan; assisting them to excel in their academic endeavors and helping them make the best out of their time as a foreign student by organizing different academic, cultural, and social activities as well as promoting effective networking among its members. Founded in 1954, AFSJ is involved in the activities of the Philippine Embassy and other sectors of the Filipino community in Japan. 

LSAJ

Lao Student Association in Japan

LSAJ Kanto is the authorized Lao Student Association in Kanto area, one among the other 8 Lao Student Associations in Japan (Hokkaido, Tohoku, Chubu, Kyoto-Shiga, Kansai-Osaka, Kobe, Shikoku and Kyushu-Okinawa area) recognized by the Embassy of Laos in Japan. Currently LSAJ Kanto has 57 members (college, bachelor and graduate students). The main role of the association is to be the link of communication between the embassy and the students for the students to be informed about what is going within Laos. LSAJ Kanto also plays a significant role as a prepared network to give advices to students both on their study and their life during their studying period. Moreover, LSAJ aims at promoting Lao traditional culture to Japanese and foreign youth in Japan through cultural exchange activities and to enhance the relationship among them.

SNIE

Student's Network for International Exchange

SNIE is a group that consists of 7 international exchange circles of 6 universities and 9 Japanese language schools. We actively address a variety of activities through interaction with foreign students and Japanese students, for example, studying each other's culture and language, to help  university and college admission for foreign students, interaction and information exchange among member organizations.

CSAJ

Cambodia Student Association in Japan

Cambodian Students Association in Japan (CSAJ) was formed in 1994 to represent Cambodian students who are studying in Japan. CSAJ consists of regional Cambodian student associations such as in Kanto, Nagoya, Kansai and Kyushu. The aim of CSAJ is to promote communication and mutual assistance among members studying in Japan and to foster cultural and academic exchange with foreign communities for the mutual understanding and cooperation. We hope we could enjoy working and being friend together.

MSAJ

Malaysian Students' Association in Japan

Malaysian Students’ Association in Japan (MSAJ) was established in the year 1976, with one the objectives of its formation- to unite all Malaysian students throughout all of Japan, and instill togetherness and the spirit of patriotism towards Malaysia. This association is open to all Malaysian students who are studying or undergoing courses for more than SIX months.

SSAJ

Singapore Students' Association (Japan)

The Singapore Students’ Association (Japan), or SSAJ in short, is an association for Singaporean students studying in Japan. Our members are mainly full-time undergraduate and graduate students attending universities in Japan, as well as students who are here on university exchange programmes. We work closely with various Singaporean agencies, such as the Singapore Embassy in Japan, and organisations to help our members settle into Japan with ease and also help link our members to other relevant organisations once they have graduated.

VYSA

Vietnamese Youth and Student Association

Vietnamese Youth and Student Association (VYSA), founded in November 10th 2001, is a non-profit organization and recognized by the Vietnamese Government as the official representative of Vietnamese youth and students in Japan. VYSA constantly organizes many activities ranging from sport and cultural events to assisting students in job hunting. These activities all share the same goals: to support our members in study, work and in daily life; and to foster friendships between Vietnamese communities as well as with friends from all over the world.
